This was for a James Bond themed party and it worked really well. Dress was the perfect length for the 2 inch heels I wore. I normally wear 4 inch and would have been a bit too short had I worn them. The split is not naturally open until you sit down so if you want that effect while walking you have to tape it open with the tape that they give you.

My experience with RTR was awesome! Super fast delivery. Love how you are able to get a back up size! Felt very comfortable in my dress. This is by far the best option. You are able to look like a superstar and not have to spend hundreds of dollars on a gown that you might just wear once. Love RTR! Will definitely be ordering again =)

I rented this dress for a wedding - my first as the officiant. I wanted something classy and elegant, but not too boring - all per instructions of the bride. I am normally a 4 and rented the 40L. I am only 5'5'' but I wore 4" heels - this dress fit like it was made for me! It was regal and for a wedding at the Empire Hotel Rooftop in NYC it was perfect! The material was so comfortable I may have been wearing pajamas. I was nervious about the slit being too much for a wedding, but as I was standing under the archway guiding the bride and groom through their vows the dress hung to the floor and you couldn't even tell there was a slit. When I sat it was easy to drape it over my lap and when it was time to dance it was the perfect amount of fun. As my 2nd rental this one tops my list. I was so sad I had to send it back and even sadder that because I have pictures in it, I probably can't rent it again! Way to go RTR - I'm officially hooked!

This is THE dress! It's conservative with a little bit of sexy and you will receive compliments all night long! I usually wear a 6, but I often have trouble with jackets or button-down shirts fitting me across the shoulders, so I wasn't surprised that I had to go up a couple sizes. Keep in mind that there isn't any stretch in this dress. It may have been bigger in other areas, but it looked fine and the bigger size meant a very comfortable evening! This dress is everything everyone has said it is -- and MORE! Treat yourself: you won't regret it.

This dress was fabulous. It is true to size and fit perfectly around the waist and shoulder/arms. I am 5'4" and 105 lbs. I typically wear a size 0 in tops, pants and dresses and I rented a size 38R and this dress fit perfectly. You can see in the picture that the dress does touch the floor. I wore 3" heels and the length in the front was perfect. One thing to note, the dress does have a circle hem which is longer in the back so it's normal for it to 'puddle' on the floor behind you. You will have to pick up the dress if you are climbing or descending stairs. Also, a typical bra will need the straps pulled in slightly and fastened with double sided tape. While sitting down, the dress has a tendency to reveal a lot of upper leg but you can easily drape one side of the dress across your legs and it is fine. All in all I got a lot of compliments, I was very comfortable in the dress and I felt like a million bucks! Very worth it!

I am 5'9", 135lbs and typically wear a size 4, sometimes a 6. I ordered the 40L and the 42L. The 40L was just a little snug around my armpits/shoulders and the 42L was a little loose all over. Both were very long. I ended up wearing the 40L because it was a bit shorter and really fit like a glove. Since I'm 5'9", I'm used to ordering long/tall in everything. However, since RTR gives the shoulder to hem length of the dress, I should have measured and compared it to the distance between my shoulder and the floor while wearing heels. I suggest you do that. One more VERY important note - be extremely careful when sitting down!! The fabric of this dress crosses beautifully at the waist, but it is not sewn shut. I used almost all of the double sided tape RTR sent with my rentals just to keep my dress closed. It looks great when you're standing or walking, but I was attending a formal sit-down dinner and had to keep my napkin on my lap at all times! I know the rental price of this dress is on the higher end for RTR, but it is so worth it! Where else can you have access to a $2k + dress for $300? I stood at the UPS dropbox with it in my hands for a few seconds before being able to let go!

This gown is absolutely stunning in person! A great waist cinching style with a sky high slit to show off those legs! Beware that the slit is very high, and you must be conscious of it throughout the night as you are walking around. The waist is fitted, so I would recommend going up one size for your backup, but there is plenty of room in the bust for all cup sizes.

The other reviewers were NOT kidding when they said how distracting this slit is! If I had to do it all over again I probably would not have gone with this dress even though it looked great and was otherwise quite comfortable. I loved the jeweled waist and could tell that the dress is well made but the slit was SO hard to sit in. Definitely DO NOT get this dress without fashion tape, or unless you are going to be standing the whole evening. Still, it was quite beautiful and I felt glamorous.

This was my back up dress but it ended up being THE DRESS. I went with my true size despite the descriptions recommending a size up. So glad I did. It was perfect. Ended up leaving the spanx off as it was too loose with them on which caused the zipper to pucker a bit in the back. I received so many complements on the simplistic elegance of the dress. Very happy I found RTR. I can't wait to do it again.

Dress was beautiful. I rented 2 dresses and wore the other as I liked it better on my body. This dress does run 1 dress size small but I know with gowns you can either wear your size or a size up so that it hangs well. I could have worn the 44L as it looked nice but the 46L hung better being a little bigger. I would recommend, I just liked the other dress better for my event.

The zipper was hard to move up and down. Would rent it again.
