I loved this dress! One of my favorites so far. The picture makes it look like a pattern on the dress, but really it is a nude slip with a black lace overlay - but the whole dress is sewn together so the slip doesnt show underneath or anything. The should strap is also really three separate lace straps that you arrange and look awesome (and stay in place). Donwside: the zipper requires a couple of hands; I ordered the two smallest sizes and it took me, my Mom and Husband to zip up the smallest size. It fit fine through the night and I didn't need a bra. Good for small chests - if you are endowed, you need to go up a size. The bigger size required a bra and I anticipated I was going to have to adjust it all night so I put all efforts into getting the smaller size zipper up. Wore nude shoes, for a wedding. awesome dress if you like fitted but have a little tummy or very athletic (where most uber-fitted dresses just dont look good on muscular abs)

I rented this to see a Broadway show (quite the treat for this non-NY gal!) I was pleased with the quality and construction of the dress, including the strap, which is actually 3 separate straps. They don't come apart much, however, so it looks like one strap. Unfortunately it was a cool, rainy December evening when I wore this, so most of the time it was covered up with a wrap or my jacket. A few notes: I didn't have to wear a bra with this and might even recommend you don't (if you're not large busted) as you might be tugging all night to keep the bra hidden. Some great ruching around the waist to give the hip area a little extra oomph - maybe not ideal if you're trying to downplay that part of the body!

This dress fit absolutely perfectly. It was great for a winter wedding. It was form fitting but still comfortable.

I wore a size 6 and the fit was true to size. I'm tall but small up top so I typically look for something that provides a little structure vs. a flowy dress. This style was great to add some shape up top that evened out my bottom half. My only negative feedback was the zipper was tough... so much so that my boyfriend spent about 10 minutes trying to zip it for me. Next time I'll have a little grease handy!

My first RTR rental and it was great! I wore this dress to a New Years Eve party and loved it! Perfect for an upscale event. The length of the dress was a little long on me and hit right at my knee (I'm 5'2"), so I pinned it up a couple inches. I wore the size 0, although I could have also worn the 2 I got as a back-up. Only difference was the straps were too long. The 0 fit like a glove, so if you are going out to dinner, don't expect to eat much because of the corseted top. Overall loved the dress and the whole RTR experience, can't wait to rent another!

The dress did not fit me well. The material was stretched out especially around the straps and chest area. I had a tailor shorten the dress as well as fix a few of the straps that were loose since this was a final sale item. After my alterations, I felt that the dress looked good. I wouldn't recommended it for girls that are shorter than maybe 5'8'' (I'm 5'6'') or for girls with a small bust. At 5'6'', I felt that the dress had to be shortened a couple inches to look good on me.

It was great dress! One I would wear again and feel it fit true to size.

This dress was great and I got a lot of compliments because of its unique look. The dress is about mid thigh length (or at least was on me). The strap at the top is actually two pieces that merge into one in the front. It stayed up for me and did not fall of the shoulder at all.

I wore this dress in a 4 to my engagement party, and loved the sophisticated cut and fabric. The material is fairly thick, so I would recommend for fall or winter events -- it is definitely not a summer-y dress.

I ordered a size 2 and 4 and ended up wearing the size 2. It was a little snug in the chest (I wear 34C) but you could not tell. The size 4 was too large in the skirt area and was not as form fitting as the size 2. The fabric was of good quality and I think the dress looks better in person than it does in the picture. I would wear it to another event and I highly recommend it!

Loved this dress. Received tons of compliments. I think the dress runs true to size. It was a little big on top for me (as most dresses are) so I had to pin the straps to make them shorter. I had the same zipper problem - took my husband several minutes to zip up the dress. It seems to "get stuck" in a certain place.

I ordered this dress 2 days before NYE when there weren't a lot of available options left. I ordered the size 2, 4 and when I got the dress it looked great. I tried the 4 on first and it took a very long time to get on. I have large hips and the dress doesn't give AT ALL. Also since there is a strap I couldn't step into it so it had to go over my head which was fine and I eventually whittled it down over my hips. It's a great dress on although I felt it was a just a little big in the chest even though I'm a 34C. I would've worn it to another event but since this was NYE and I know that I like to dance I didn't feel comfortable in it. I felt I could've ripped it with any sudden dance moves and it would've been a little tight whenever I sat down. Someone with smaller hips or someone who doesn't plan on dancing would look great in this dress!

The bust was a little roomy but nothing a bra couldn't fix. The straps were really neat but you couldn't separate them and they naturally bunched up together. Would definitely consider renting this dress again (and actually wearing it).

This was my backup dress that I ordered and it turned out to be great. The length and fit were great for my 5'5 height. The only thing I would say is that if you have a small chest you might want to consider wearing a bra eventhough the dress has built-in bodice in it. Overall, loved the dress would definitely rent again!

I never intended to rent this dress. I had reserved a long gown and a 2nd style long gown 6 weeks before the wedding i was to attend. RTR called me the day before i was to receive my order to tell me the primary dress was unavailable. they sent me the 2nd style plus 2 other long dresses that they stylist chose for me. None of them worked, so the next day they sent me 2 more, one of which was this dress. the fabric is gorgeous, it fit me perfectly and was extremely flattering.. the faux bustier-look is sexy but still classy. i did not need to wear a bra. again, the fabric is soo pretty- the peachy champagne color slip under the black chunky lace is really unique. In the end i was sooo happy that i wore this instead of a long dress, it was much better for dancing. thank you to Neil at RTR for helping to get me a dress in time!

This dress was beautiful! Unfortunately I couldn't wear it. It has a side zipper that is impossible to get up if you have a large bust. Even with help could not get it zippered.

This was my own fault, I ordered the recommended sizing even though I never wear that size and it was huge on me. Very lovely details though.

Note: The corset does not move. I wore it to a wedding and would recommend something a little more forgiving if you want to move it on the dance floor!

The dress is pretty (although a little more understated than I thought based on the photos), but the fit is really, really weird. The strap, as others have said, is too long and it's hard to keep it up. The top is suuuuper tight and presses your chest flat, and the bottom is poofy. I had a hard time getting the top closed on the 6 (my backup size), but was swimming in the bottom.

I ordered a 4 and a 6 as this said it ran true to size, but I was absolutely swimming in this dress. I think I should have ordered a zero, which is confusing because for "designers" a size 4 should be pretty small. I'd also add that I'm 3 months preg and swollen and it was still gigantic. e.g. I wear a 4or6 in theory, but would wear a 0 in banana republic dresses, but not usually in a designer dress.
