Short side is SHORT
I have a longer torso, but still through that my height would mean the short side wouldn't be inappropriate. It did not fully cover my butt. Also, anyone who has hips, you are going to need to size up because there is NO stretch, and while I could put the dress on, there is no way I could walk without the whole thing riding up.

Shows every bump
I mistakenly thought the thick fabric and stretch would mean I wouldn't need anything underneath it... I was wrong. Beautiful color, the straps are much to far to the side (under my armpit) and the fabric is not forgiving.

Gorgeous cut and pattern, easy to adjust fit!
This dress runs a little large- I am normally a 4 or 6 and the 4 fit with extra room at the bust (34B). I could even fit into the size 0, but it was uncomfortable. The one part with no adjustment is the circumference at the waist (top of the zipper). The 4 fit me there perfectly (waist 27"). The interior lining is also tighter than the outside skirt- ladies with plenty of hips might be more comfortable with a size up. The lacing above the waist is easy to adjust to fit your torso- a little tricky to do behind your own back but not impossible. The bust has a lot of structure, so as long as you aren't super busty, you will be fine without a bra. The triangle in the middle is a pale nude color, so depending on your skin color will look like a plunge neckline while keeping you secure. The layers make this dress perfect for spring or fall- anything hotter than 75 degrees I think you'll be sweating- the material is substantial. Only other thing to note is that it is LONG. I am 5'2", was wearing 4 inch heels, and still had a solid 4 inches of fabric on the ground. I had to pick it up to walk, tried pinning it up, and ended up throwing part of the skirt over my shoulder by the end of the night. Definitely better for taller people. It does do a BEAUTIFUL sweep when walking down stairs with the cut of the skirt- Great for photo sessions! Overall, it is a gorgeous dress, flattering cut, beautiful pattern. Just long for short gals, and keep waist measurement in mind the most when choosing your size.

great cut; recommend spanxs!
I didn't end up wearing this dress. The color was not the most flattering on my pink-ish skin, but really is a lovely rose color. I was worried about it being too long, but the longest point just hit the ground for me, so heels would have kept it from touching and worked just fine. The reason I ended up going with a different dress is that you really need spanxs with this one. The fabric is fairly thick, and it was my correct size (not skin tight or anything) but it really does show all your curves... even the ones you wouldn't want to emphasize. I think spanx could have smoothed everything out in the stomach area but as it was, I knew I would be self conscious all night. The top was a little bit loose on me (34B) but a padded strapless bra could have fixed that. It did arrive with a few creases in the skirt that I'm sure would have come out with some steaming, but otherwise in good condition.

Beautiful color; long on a petite person; not good for the narrow waisted.
Didn't end up wearing this one- I rented a 2 and 4 based on other's reviews. I am 5'1.5", 120 lbs and my measurements are 35, 25, 36. The 2 fit in the hips and was a little loose in the bust (34B), but was quite loose around the waist. I tried adding a belt, but it just looked odd. I wish I had rented the size 0. The fabric does have some stretch to it, and is quite thick and very well lined (I would not recommend this in summer, way too thick). The lining did bunch up just a bit, but it wasn't too bad. I love the silhouette of this dress with the off-the shoulder sleeves, but it was just too long on me (it just made me look shorter hitting mid shin on me) and the 2 was too big on my torso. I think ladies who are built with a straighter torso (less hourglass), this dress could be killer- accentuating the curves you have but fitting well throughout.

Perfect for a work Holiday Party!
I wore this to a work Christmas party. It was the perfect mix of classy, with just enough sexy. The color is gorgeous and it is full lined and thick, so it was perfect for a winter event. I am a B cup and didn't need to wear a bra with this. I can imagine that women with shorter torsos might have trouble with the cut of the top of it- it cuts down rather sharply and could get side-booby. Although I'm short (5'1.5") so the dress was long on me, I don't think it looked bad. The skirt is narrow- I was still able to dance, but definitely no doing lunges in this one. Great for an hourglass figure, and true to size. The fabric has some stretch, and I ordered one size up just in case based on other's reviews, but the 2 fit perfectly.

Doesn't like like much, but the thick stretchy fabric hold in all the right places, and the off the shoulder is lovely.

Stunner!
Great dress- wore it for an anniversary dinner and he couldn't stop complimenting me all night :) The lining is smooth and feels great. Sequins catch the light but the black on nude isn't too ostentatious. I'm shorter (5'1.5") so the dress hit my leg a little lower (mid shin) but with some high heels it balanced me out. Sleeves were the snuggest part- but I have pretty big upper arms compared to the rest of my frame and it still fit and wasn't uncomfortable or restrictive. The rest of the dress has some stretch, but not enough to totally hold in those problem areas. I wore some spanks underneath to give me a little more confidence around the midsection. Can't wear a regular bra due to the low back. I'm a 34B and just went without one. For girls who are more generously endowed, I'm guessing you'd need more support though- again, the material is stretchy but not that supportive. Absolutely would rent this dress again.

Great Color- Terrible Zipper!
The dress is pretty true to size, and was snug but not too tight on me. The fabric has just the right amount of stretch. A few areas are a bit itchy due to seams on the inside, but I didn't find it unbearable, or too distracting while wearing it. The one downfall was the zipper! There is a seam at about the waistline that the zipper really doesn't want to go past, despite the sides meeting up with no trouble. There is almost a hole in the side of the zipper fabric at the point- it is clear many renters have had it get stuck right there. I was really about to give up and thought I couldn't wear it when my boyfriend broke out the pliers to keep a firm grip on the tiny zipper to muscle it up, and it took him quite a while. Thank God it came undone easily at the end of the night- I was worried I'd be trapped forever. I think the zipper really needs to be replaced, or the dress needs to be retired. Otherwise it is a beautiful, classy dress. I did find the sides of the back gaped a bit, but it didn't bother me, nor did I feel like it looked bad. Small chested women don't need a bra, but even with a snug fit, there isn't much support. Although it looks black, it is actually a deep navy peaking through the lace!

GORGEOUS Color- so Scratchy!!
This is a beautiful dress, and it fits like a glove! I think it runs a bit small- based on other reviews I got the small (measurements are 34,25,35) even though I'm usually an XS/0/2. It has just the right amount of stretch but is thick enough to be forgiving and hold in those problem areas. The neckline is quite deep- I found it came to an inch or so below where the base of my bra would sit. I wasn't worried about anything moving too much- again fit like a glove- but I threw a little fashion tape on the edges so I could dance worry free. The only downside of this dress is how scratchy the sequins are! I've worn other sequined dresses with no problem- these seem especially malicious! I tried it on and within five minutes my underarms were so cut up I was bleeding on one side. No exaggeration. I also cut up my left hand which I had used to zip up the back. Seriously, I could not make this stuff up. Desperate to wear this dress, and being a reasonably good seamstress, I tacked on some nice black fabric in the shape of a triangle to match the neckline under each arm- sweet relief! I don't think it even showed up in the picture, but for me it was absolutely necessary to make the dress wearable (don't worry RTR, I very carefully undid my work before sending it back). Despite my additions, at the end of the night I had scratches on the undersides of my arms, and a few on the back of my legs from adjusting the hem (it didn't ride up too much, but I did have to pull it down a few times during the night). While dancing with a friend, I brushed against her shoulder and she jumped away in pain with a nice new scratch to commemorate the night. Not a dress to wear if you are trying to get close!

Great Color, Worn Out Dress
Fantastic color! Unfortunately the dress I received was pretty worn out. The lining showed below the hem in a few places, and it looked like the hem came out in a few places as well. Some areas of the fabric were "pilly" from many wears, making it look more like a second-hand dress and less "runway." Also, the material wasn't as thick or resilient as I expected. It doesn't help hold anything in, and seems to become instantly stretched out. After having the dress on for only 30 minutes from the hips down it was wrinkled and loose. The picture is from the end of the night- not figure flattering at all any more. The top was very fitted, and I didn't need a bra. Overall I was just disappointed in the quality, but that might just be the particular dress I got that has already been well loved.

Beautiful color, not made for petites
Beautiful dress, but the dimensions are not made for short women. All of the ratios of the torso were off for me, and the hips were too wide and the extra fabric sat awkwardly stiff out to the side. Just made for a taller person I think.

Incredible dress that made for an unforgettable night!
Just as other reviewers have said, this dress is incredible! I wore this to a black-tie gala, and it hit just the right mix of formal, sexy, and classy. The cut, stretch, and color (definitely a rose gold) are versatile and flattering on every body type. I found it hard to believe when I read others' experiences, but I really was stopped by strangers left and right all night long, commenting on how beautiful the dress was, and how great I looked in it. I was kept constantly blushing-It is even better in person than in photographs. The fabric is heavy, but that made it perfect for a winter event. I was not bothered by the sequins on my arms, but the dress was tightly fitted across my shoulders and around my arms (I have rather broad shoulders for my frame, and my upper arms are not thin) and I had some light red marks by the end of the night- nothing significant. I am typically a size 2 or 4 in formal-wear, so I was surprised that the size 0 was the best fit on me. While fitted around my shoulders and bust (no need to wear a bra) it was a little loose around the waist and hips. For reference, my measurements are ~ 36, 26, 36. It didn't look too large on me, but it could have easily been smaller, and in some pictures you can see the extra material at the waist. Overall, the material showed off my curves in a good way, and created an overall polished look. I am 5'1.5", and the 0P was the perfect length in 4.5 inch heels- it hovered just barely above the floor in the front, and had a small train in the back. The only con was that the dress' lining showed a good 1.5-2 inches below the hem of the dress. I'm not sure if the one I got just happened to be stretched out, or if this is a common problem. I did a quick, large stitch to hem up the lining that came out easily when it was time to return it. There were also a few areas with broken threads/sequins missing, but that was only noticeable upon close inspection.
