First the positives: the print is gorgeous and contains a lot of subtler highlight colors including pink, bright orange, pale mint green, red and bright orchid purple, so coordinating accessories is a snap. I got tons of compliments. Fun to dance in and really lightweight, wore this to an outdoor wedding on a 90 degree day and stayed pretty cool thanks to the flowing bottom and exposed shoulders! But then, the negatives: as many reviews have already mentioned, the ribbon straps that you have to tie yourself are messy, a huge hassle, and detract from both the overall look and comfort of the dress. They arrived wrinkled and were tricky to flatten, I couldn't tie them alone and they never hung evenly. They didn't stay tight, so I had to enlist help throughout the night to re-tie them - constantly felt like I was moments from toplessness! A better and neater solution would have been to knot the ribbons and pin the knot inside the dress-and from the pinholes I found in the ribbon, someone else had already tried this. I'm 5'9" and pretty flat-chested, and when I tied the dress tight enough to feel secure it was a couple inches shorter than I would have liked, as you can see from the photo. I think this dress could be great for a shorter person good with creative knots!

This was my back-up dress for a wedding, and I did not end up wearing it because the fit wasn't perfect...at 5'9" I normally rent a 2L, but the long option on this gown was SO long that I basically had a train, even with 3.5 inch heels. The 2L would be absolutely phenomenal on a really tall lady, and I can't wait to rent the 2 regular for another event. Fabric is thick and forgiving, dress is incredibly comfortable, and the back looks daring but you can wear a regular strapless bra with it, a huge plus.

In service to the next renter, let me answer the questions I couldn't find adequate answers for about this wonderful but slightly confusing dress! Actual color: (if you need to match your mani in advance): the background is off-white, the flowers themselves are made from interwoven dusty red and white threads. It appears and photographs as a coral or dark pink dress but dark pink, red, maroon and nude accents could all work equally well. Fabric: a VERY thick, vintage-y feeling brocade without a hint of stretch. This was so thick I didn't need shapewear or a bra underneath, although I wish I'd worn stick on cups to give the top a little more shape. But even at a humid summer wedding I wasn't too hot, thanks to the amazing open back. Fit: Get your size and the next size up. I have a broad ribcage, only the 2 was available and it was a tight squeeze-definitely felt the dress on my body the whole night, although I had no problems moving in it. The dress really only touches the ribcage-the stomach is all hidden behind voluminous pleating so great for a post-partum body. This worked great for a cocktail dress code, I think it's also formal enough for black tie. The dress was incredibly unique among the guests. I got more compliments than I've ever gotten since my own wedding day!

I normally wear a size 2 dress but found this dress ran small and wore my back-up size, 4L. The fabric is on the thicker side with stretch. I loved that this dress read as very sexy thanks to the cut-outs and high back slit, but I could wear both a regular supportive bra and Spanx under it! I wore this to a "black-tie optional" wedding and it was perfect for this dress code, I got compliment after compliment from total strangers. My one complaint would be that the dress I received wasn't in like-new condition and did show some signs of wear, mostly fraying threads on the inner lining but also wear on the finish of the zipper. I'm sure this wasn't noticeable to anyone else at an evening event but the zipper is a feature of the dress.
