I felt like this dress ran true to size. The material would likely give a bit if you sized down but it may not be as easy to dance in! The color and fit are really nice and the sleeve detail gives this dress a fun yet structured style. Definitely down play jewelry so that it isn't too busy at the neckline.

I ended up using my larger size for this event so definitely order up when in doubt. It hugged perfectly and can be worn with a normal strapless bra- score! It was slightly short so I couldn't wear heels but I was ok with that and had sandals that happened to match anyways. I'm 5'5" so I was a little shocked that the dress was just barely to my toes. Order the king if you want to wear heels!
