Shorter than I expected
I ordered a regular length originally, but there wasn't my size in long at the time I ordered it over a month before my event. I checked about a week before my event and there happened to be a long available. Customer service was able to reimburse my second order and count the dress as my extra free size. I was very happy about that and appreciated it as I couldn't see myself spending 170 twice. I would size up one size based on your pant size. Im 5'6 and the 14 regular was above my ankles...

Last minute dress for family portrait
My original Marchesa Notte dress I had rented was last minute canceled so I had very slim pickings to choose from. This was my first time using rent the runway and I chose my dress a few sizes too big by mistake. I'm normally a size 14 in jeans so I thought this would fit me. Well no. I'm pear shaped and wear about 34D for bras. I definitely could have gone a few sizes smaller. It hit my torso too low and not at my natural waste line. It was a gorgeous dress, but too flashy for the photo.
