This dress is beautiful, original, elegant, and very flattering. That being said, it's made for something 5'10" - literally off the runway. Given that I'm 5'4", it was swimming on me. I actually sewed the straps down to the back of the dress (lifted it up about 4 inches) and then it was absolutely perfect (and don't worry, I took the strings out after I was done and nobody's the wiser!). Once it was lifted up on my shoulders, I was able to wear 4 inch heals without it dragging on the floor. Anybody 5'8" or taller, get this dress and you will not be sorry. 5'2 or below, don't even bother. And anyone between there should do so only if they're willing to get creative with safety pins or needle and thread.

Perfect length for someone my height (I'm 5'4" and wore 3" heels) but the proportions were made for a regular fit, not petite. Moreover, the top runs really small... I have a small bust and pretty narrow shoulders but I barely got my regular size to zip. Once on, the dress is super flattering and easy to wear, though I did find myself stepping on the skirt occasionally. I would gladly wear this gown again for another formal occasion!
